Before placing an order with its suppliers Smart Brides requires a non-refundable 50% deposit of the total order. Within 14 days of the goods arriving (including early arrival of goods) the final 50% is payable and goods must be collected. All goods must be collected and paid for, regardless of the circumstance – failure to do so may result in legal action to recover any outstanding balance. Goods remain the property of Smart Brides until full payment is received.  All quoted delivery dates are approximate. Payment may be made by cash, debit card and credit card. Alterations are extra and not the responsibility of Smart Brides. Dress orders cannot be cancelled (or changed to a different style) once an order has been placed.

Please note that our system does not enable us to cross reference every bride who ordered their dress with us against someone from their neighbourhood. While we always do our best to keep track it is ultimately the responsibility of the bride to provide Smart Brides with details of any person who has purchased a wedding dress with us, to ensure that the same dress is not ordered by two brides who may know each other.

Sizes are ordered against the manufacturers size chart, please ensure agreement by viewing size charts and confirm
measurement and dress size ordered. Smart Brides will not be responsible for any weight fluctuation, ie weight gain or loss, once the gown has been ordered.  Please note Smart Brides is NOT responsible for any sizing issues due to a customer requesting a dress in a size other than that recommended by the manufacturer.

Terms of Sale – SAMPLE GOWN

All sample gowns are sold as seen; no refund or return is available on sample gowns.  Please ensure you check the gown over before removing from the premises as we regret we don’t accept returns under any circumstances.

Dry Cleaning if necessary is the responsibility of the customer .

Please note that any store credit received must be used within 90 days.


Any accessories ordered online are sourced from Europe and are not kept in store at Smart Brides.  With that in mind please allow at least 28 days for delivery. Some styles are kept in stock and it may be possible to organise a faster turn around but please call or email us before placing an order so that we can see whether this is possible.




Smart Brides are happy to supply a list of professional bridal seamstresses in various areas of the country. It is your responsibility to book an appointment with your seamstress and all costs incurred are between you and your seamstress. We also have a seamstress who attends our showroom to facilitate a first fitting. Please enquire about this facility.

Collection Appointments

On collection of your dress we strongly advise that make-up be kept to a very minimum and that bronzers or tans are not used. We ask that jewellery be removed also. These precautions are taken in order to protect your dress as Smart Brides will not be responsible for any stains etc that might happen due to your make up jewellery etc. We also advise that any of your guests accompanying you to the collection appointment of your dress do not touch your dress. Again this is to protect your dress.
